As per IRSAM Regulation 3.0, all applicants will be considered according to the following criteria, in decreasing order of importance: availability, willingness to prepare and participate, attendance at IRSAM meetings, participation in other IRSAM events/activities, experience, skill, recommendation by executive members.

In the following space, please list your Model UN-related experience, as well as any other classes, leadership experiences, international relations related activities, and other achievements or accomplishments that you feel may be relevant. Remember that having no Model UN experience does not automatically disqualify you from participation in a trip or event. Also, please describe why you would be an ideal representative of McGill and IRSAM at either of these conferences. Attach additional pages as needed.

The experience of Model United Nations can be fulfilling, challenging, and fun for all involved. Those with experience know the value of high-quality preparation and research beforehand, with regards to both specific countries and the United Nations system. If you are selected for a conference, you will be required to suitably research your assigned country or position, submit a short position paper in advance of the trip, and attend training workshops and meetings with your fellow delegates.

Attendance decisions will be made by October 1st, 2009.
Should you be selected to attend one of the above trips, it is expected that you will provide full payment of your trip on the following dates:
National Collegiate Security Council: full payment due October 6th, 2009.
Columbia Model United Nations in New York: full payment due October 8th, 2009.
Security Council Simulation at Yale: full payment due October 23rd, 2009

Please ensure that there are no unacceptable conflicts with midterms or papers before committing to a trip.  However, please be reminded that the Model United Nations Club will be happy to submit a letter to a professor detailing your commitment to the MUN team for a particular trip weekend.

All applications are due at 11:59pm on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009. Submissions should be e-mailed to delegations@irsam.ca.  This is the only acceptable means to submit an application.
