About Us
What we do
With a dedicated membership of over 200 students, the International Relations Students’ Association of McGill is one of the largest student organizations part of the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU) that has won has received numerous accolades including “Club of the Year”, “President of the Year”, and “Event of the Year” in the past. IRSAM’s Board of Directors manage the administrative, financial and legal aspects of the organization.
As a federally incorporated, not-for-profit organization with special consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, IRSAM has something to offer to everyone within and outside the McGill community, and we urge all those interested to become involved. From our community outreach programs to our Model UN conferences, we have a broad range of events and activities that focus on international relations, the United Nations and volunteer work in communities both local and abroad.
Why we do it
As the International Relations Students’ Association of McGill, our mission is:
To offer a neutral forum for university students to express their interest in international affairs, and in the United Nations and its goals specifically;
To educate and develop an awareness of the United Nations in the local, national, and international communities;
To provide its members with the opportunity to contribute to international development in a positive way through participation in activities organized and/or accredited by the corporation.
Thereby we, the members of the International Relations Students’ Association of McGill, will strive to achieve these goals of our non-profit organization to the best of our abilities.
