The McGill Model United Nations Assembly is a highly anticipated student-run conference held in the heart of downtown Montreal, Quebec since 1989. Celebrating its 30th iteration this year, McMUN operates as one of the most prestigious initiatives of its kind in Canada and ranks among the top academic events at McGill University. As the largest collegiate Model United Nations conference in Canada and the third largest in North America, McMUN holds a 500-strong staffing base and attracts over 1600 delegates from around the world to participate in lively debate. As an annual initiative, McMUN is one of the largest international conferences and high-ranking events of its kind, attracting distinguished keynote speakers such as Roméo Dallaire, former Force Commander of UNAMIR, Louise Fréchette, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, and Badiya al Hassan, The Princess of Jordan. Situated in the centre of the vibrant City of Montreal, McMUN is held in Le Centre Sheraton and will be taking place from January 24th to January 27th in 2019. For the past 30 years, McMUN has inspired innovation in the leaders of tomorrow, strengthened student engagement and awareness on global issues, and has challenged our participants through realistic and creative debate. This year, McMUN 2019 will continue its tradition of being a rewarding experience for all those involved — both staff and delegates alike!

Getting Involved with McMUN

There are a variety of ways in which you can become involved with McMUN including: 

1.    Secretariat – the Executive Team of the conference. 

a.     Positions include: Chargé(e) d’Affaires, Chief of Staff, Chief of Operations, USG Committees, USG IT, USG Finance, Director of Events, Director of PR, USG Committees Deputies, and Deputies of PR 

b.    Hiring February-March 2019

2.    Logistical Coordinators – contribute to logistical aspects of the conference.

a.     Positions include: Sustainability, Events, Local Sponsorship, Operations, Staff Room, Photo/Video, Opening Ceremonies and Closing Ceremonies, Page, Delegate Resource Centre

b.    Hiring Spring and Fall 2019

3.    Committee Daises – contribute to the team running each committee at McMUN.

a.     Positions include: Chair, Vice Chair, Crisis Director, Assistance Crisis Director

b.    Hiring Spring 2019

4.    Committee Staff – contribute to the smooth-running of committees at McMUN.

a.     Positions include: Committee Director, Crisis Staffer, Page

b.    Hiring Fall 2019

5.    Logistical Staff – contribute to logistical aspects of the conference.

a.     Positions include: Events, Staff Room, Photo, Delegate Resource Centre
